I was just wondering if anyone has fished Lake Athens recently and can give a report, I have never fished the lake and was just wondering if anyone is willing to share some information on the lake. Thanks in advance

Fished Athens for the first time sunday evening and the fishing was great! Probably boated 30 fish or so with the biggest being five pounds. Launched the boat and just dropped the trolling motor and started fishing. All fish were caught on a watermellon red senko texas rigged in 5-6ft of water around any kind of vegetation. Best cover for me was reeds and pads but did catch a few on the outside grass line, not sure exactly what type of grass it was but i think it was pepper grass. Hope this helps and good luck!

I was down there two weeks ago and it was on. Beds everywhere. Not sure about that now. We caught most of our fish on a watermelon red 5 inch Yum Dinder. It was windy the day we were there and they ate the chatterbait too (white/chart). Good luck!

I fished today. Not many Bass beds in the areas I fished. I did catch 2 on beds. Lots of Bream beds though. I had good luck with watermelon red Senko. Boated 30ish Bass up to 5 lbs.

Did you try any frogs ? I love the top water bite on Lake Athens.

I Caught em in grass on senkos. I didn't get bit shallow, had to go deeper to get bit.

i went 2 weeks ago and did well. caught them on a wacky rigged rattlesnake and a trash rig with a blue fleck 7" worm. Caught them on secondary points in 6-10ft on the outside grass lines.
