I'm from up north and I would do anything to get t catch some smallmouth again. Personally it's my favorite fish to go catchin for! Anyone know of a place I can go to catch some. I live in the DFW area. Willing to drive a few hours to do so. Within reason if course

Texoma use to be good. I have heard that it fell off after the big flood. I have not fished for smallies much since so I cannot say whether or not it has. Whitney use to be real good and held the state record for a while. Not sure what happened down there. Smallies seem to do well and then we get a real hot summer or in Texoma's case a big flood and they disappear. Golden algae may have something to do with it too.

Caught this the other day at Wheeler Branch in Glen Rose right next to Squaw Creek. Not big but it is a smallie. Great little lake.

Wheeler and Bport have a ton in them. EM spits one out on occasion.
Haven't heard of any coming out of PK in a long time.

Texoma is full of brownies, lots of quality fish. Lake Murray has a lot of smallmouth also. Have had lots of 50+ fish days. Most are 10-14"
