I was casting out a yellow magic one day and a big white crane flew into my line hooking itself at Fork. I cut the line and finally got my $15.00 back and the bird flew away still baffled!

I think anything I catch nowadays is an accident. Before the hiatus I could throw a button on string onto a mud puddle and pull out a nice trout or bass; since my return to fishing I can't catch carp...the fish or the expletive. But to get to the subject...
A deer (doe), couple ducks, bullfrog, Daredevil, fishing buddies (should've known enough to stay well away from me when I'm casting).
Oddest/strangest was with a Goldfish spoon, caught a small bass that had swallowed a snelled hook that was attached to a snap-swivel with a few feet of line on it -- the Goldfish treble went thru the snap-swivel eye where the line was attached.

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

Line. I catch miles of line every trip out.

But also, turtles, gar, catfish, drum, grinnel, talapia, redfish (on Fairfield). I guess over the years I caught pretty much everything with gills and a gull on a Pop R.

Hooked a 20# flathead right behind the dorsal fin with a DD22 in a bass tournament once. Took forever to land that sucker. Bowfin, Chain Pickerel, longnose, shortnose and spotted gar, alligator and common snapping turtles, beaver, many snakes, caught a condom in a backwater canal while tarpon fishing in San Juan, Puerto Rico, many many many bullfrogs and about all the trash fish out there!

A buddy of mine has caught two separate pairs of hobo pants on ladybird lake (one of em was a 34 wide... could be a state record...lol)... those hobo pants seem to love hitting trolling crankbaits
