Myself and a friend have signed up for an up coming tournament on this lake on Friday and need some help. Went out on Saturday caught some but just not the right ones of course. Boat houses where pretty good but seem to shut down early. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks rookie

I always had good luck (won a few tournaments) by flipping a perch imitation buckhair jig with an orange trailer into the cattails and swim a spinnerbait through the "potato weeds". Haven't fished @ EM for a number of years...don't know if there is any vegitation in the water now....but, if there is....that should help you..

Fished a tourney there recently. Boat docks that have other cover (usually man made) had some fish, but the teams with nice sacks were fishing coves and points. Water was clearer down south and down south seemed to produce better (coming from a guy that fished a lot of deepwater docks up north)

If you run up north past Pelican, be careful as there are three different sand bars that are half way into the lake about 15 to 20 inches under the water. Saw multiple people stuck on them two weeks ago, out pushing etc.

The fish are in the post spawn, just do what you think you should do and you will be fine..I know another guy that was out there this past Saturday and caught around 26lbs.. Also look for the shad spawn it should be busted wide open anyday now.
