Winter that is. Finally getting some warmer weather but What's with all the wind?
Fished Tuesday, Friday, Sat, and Sunday mornings and averaged around 20 nice keepers each day along with lots of dinks so it's a lot of fun. For some reason we're either catching 8" fish or 14" fish. Few in between. But who cares as long as the big ones keep showing up.
Secret right now is using 2" plastic bodies on 1/16 oz heads and fishing very slow. Color doesn't seem too critical. As much as I hate to do it I have been either anchoring or tying up in order to fish slower. Lots of strikes coming while jig is held as still as possible.

Hey Ernest....tell everyone the story as to why a person shouldn't run their starter battery for eight years without changing Doesn't sound too smart - might need it again when going to the next secret spot, other bathroom, or even back home quickly! Mine doesn't seem to last more than three seasons anyway. Last year - it did start one day and got me to the "spot" but then, didn't! Oh boy, what a day!

My season lasts the year around, health allowing. Since my new boat came with an Interstate battery for the starting battery I quickly learnt to carry a JumpStation with me all the time. I found that you never know when an Interstate will die. As you stated about your battery, it will start perfect at the slip, then die when you try to leave the "spot". Fortunately I had jump cables with me the first time it happened so I was able to jump start using the trolling batteries. Since then my JumpStation goes on the boat as part of the fishing equipment. And yes, the motor's charging system and boat electrical system was checked by the dealer when he replaced the second one month old battery, no problems with either system to caused the shorted battery plates.

Well I guess any dumb secret's not safe anymore. In my defense it was only 6 years old. All my fishing is on Lewisville now unless I go with someone else.

[/quote] +1 except I have not had any issues with Interstate batteries other than normal wear which means about three years and replace.

Sounds like your back in the saddle I plan to change my starting battery on my boat, use it as a second battery for my RV, then I should not to have to worry about the boat starting for awhile.
