Donald; I hope that was a tongue in check statement, or an inspiration for our next trip, because I don't know that I (we) need to do any better. I think this was a very successful trip, if not for the entire group at least for me personally. How can you "expect" more than 200 fish, 7 fish over 5 pounds and 3 new personal best fish.
I certainly hope I do better sometime on a trip like this but if I do just as good as I did on this trip I'll be perfectly happy. If you expect to much you will always be disappointed.
A trip like this is only as good as you make it. This was a great trip.

If you round it to 300 fish by 6 anglers over 8 days that is 6.25 fish per person per day.

Maybe that is why he said "You will do better next time."

I guess if you round it to 300 and then subtract the time that it took to "warm up", "sober up", "take a nap" on the boat, "eat lunch", and generally BS,,,,,,,,we probably caught a fish on every other cast.
I will take a trip like this anytime I go to any lake.
Thanks to Billy, Jay & Jim. Great job guys. see y'all soon.

Nutman failed to mention that on the day I fished with him all 38 fish came after we made him get rid of the banana he brought with him.
7:00-10:00 = ZERO
10:00-4:00 = 38

Sounds like a great trip! Hard to complain about 8 days fishing and catching good fish makes it even better.

But I like bananas.
AND I like catching fish better.
No more bananas in a fishing boat for me.

We need the complete banana story. I might need to avoid bananas in the boat as well. laugh

we had a great trip.
Even with the banana.
Please keep in mind,,,,,,this was a thread that was penned by me from a personal perspective.
from my perspective it was truly a lot of fun.

I was in a boat that caught over 160 fish in 6 days of fishing.
I caught 8 bass over 5lbs when I had only caught 1 bass over 5lbs in 35 years of fishing.
I improved on my personal best 3 times with the biggest coming in at 6lbs 15ozs.
I caught 2-6+s and a 5 on the first day & 2-5s and a 6+ on the last day.
In between I caught so many fish that my side was bruised real bad from setting the hook and fighting fish.......I bruise easily. Thanks to Bassin Billy Tompkins, what a guide and what a good guy.
We also had gourmet meals (steak & potatos, BBQ ribs & brisket, Grilled chicken & steak filets with a reduced port wine sauce) that were out of this world. All the whiskey I could handle and plenty of late night stories. The only thing I didn't get enough of was ....sleep.
It was a great trip.
Looking forward to the next one.
