JimmyP, what goes around comes around, the dude is just not right as I have dealt with him in the past. His time will come!

First off no excuse for any foul language or BS with your mom, period. I have put in there probably 8 times in my two fork trips this year. One afternoon I was towing in a boat broken down with engine troubles into the ramp and the guy in question came over and thanked me. Surprisingly he gave me my ramp fee back for being a Good Samaritan to a boater in need. Like the place. It's clean, maintained, great ramp with good water for launching, secure, and has good access to birch. They look after the little details like the little wooden pallet of boards on the corner of the ramp to help get in and out of the boat without getting muddy.
Again, no excuse for his attitude towards you and your mother.

My wife, my brother and I have all had less than pleasant encounters with this guy all on different occasions. Someone needs to print this thread and slide it in his pay box....maybe he's just clueless.

I have dealt with that "D" for years. He can run fast for an old fart. He thought we didn't pay once and came running after us and caught up with us - even after we had paid. I was LMAO! I really like the ramp at Val's but I will not be contributing to the old farts cause any longer. Also, I would steer clear from Lakeview lodge. I just stayed there the end of March and it had really gone down hill. Plus they over charged my credit card--NICE!

Well I have never had a problem there. No excuse for bad manners when providing a service to others. I do like the ramp always clean, and well kept. I got out one time without putting the receipt on my window thought that might be my time but no problems. I know it is crazy to think this but I feel more secure about my property, way better than the other end of 2946 at public ramp. Having said all this I would never go back to a place that Disrespected my wife or Mom, you just can't mess with MOM.

What has the SRA had to say about this. Had a lady on PK years ago that called the BRA for people parking on the sand beach next to a park where a large tournament was weighing in. The lake was down 6-7' at the time and BRA told her if the lake was below pool level which is 1000' that they could park there. So it might depend on the lake level, I wouldn't think he owns land below pool level. Some one will slap a knot on his head that a calf can't lick off some day.

We always stay at lake view so the only reason we ever launch at vals is because the water was too low to use lake views and as long as we can help it we wont be launching there

Seems like the owner has been having issues with other customers as well.

Oh man, Bill definitively was in the wrong line of work. He gave me hell until I ask him about his rodeo days, after that he just stopped acknowledging me. I used to take friends and tell them to get a candy bar and pay with a credit card, Bill would flip out and yell random insults like he had tourettes. I really miss those cheese burgers, toward the end I think he was just in a lot pain and in bad health.

My grandpa and grandma retired...they were both in bad moods a lot too.

Some of the guides from the early days are among the most eccentric (or crazy) people around the lake Marc. lol.

Well I must take up for my old friend Bill Kell. He was an old grouch but I don't think he would disrespect a 63 year old lady or really any other lady for that matter. I used to watch Millie give him heck when she worked for him at Rainswood. His place was the only place we would stay at when we came cuz he was the only proprietor that would allow pets and he loved our Schnauzers and would come and get one of them so he could hold it while he sat in that chair by the register. I used to enjoy watching him blow up when you would ask for biscuits on a weekday. He now lives in Darrozett which is way up in the panhandle and not in good health. Bill had over 50 ten pound bass to his record and I was with him the day he got #54. I could tell many stories about Bill but don't wanna type that much.

I agree. Bill never talked much in the many years I went there. The last time I went in there was about four months before he closed up. For some reason, he felt like opening up that day and talked to me for at lest 30 min. He told me about he and his wives health issues and why they decided to close. Those burgers were awesome!!! Where did Milly go to work? She made a great burger!!
