Fished 630-1:00. Couple of fish early on a buzzbait, then caught my fill of small ones on spinnerbait and chatterbait around shallow grass. No quality At all but I was just fun fishing, and it was fun. Patchy grass is better than heavy grass.
The last hour or so, I backed off and started throwing a trap over deeper grass. That yielded a better quality of fish. Caught about six or eight the last hour all over 2 pounds biggest going close to four. I wanted to spend some time throwing plastics over deep grass, but the wind was howling and I didn't feel like fighting it.
All in it was over 20 for the day.
Someone had a 63 0 am shotgun start, about 15 boats. Curious to see how you did.
And shout out to the guy who cut in on the bank I was fishing down, 40 yards in front of me, then proceeded to tell me exactly where you were fishing so I wouldn't get on your spot. That was really cool of you.

That was ABA and Federation this morning. Yesterday was ABA and South Texas 5 which my buddy and his son spanked em in.
It can get down right ugly out there in tournaments. Most have no respect for the average guy when they are fishing for money or their pride is on the line.

I figured he was in a tourney. I didn't care, I was happy to let him have the spot. Just thought it was weird, most folks will never cut that close in front of someone to begin with.
What won south texas five?

Yessir Will. I still go time to time, just that these days my fishing dates choose me, rather than the other way around.
When is the club there? I will try to make it if I can.
