Had a toad break my line around a stump yesterday- fun to get her to bite but dang she was likely 9-11lb range.
Also, sad to see a large area of new development and tree removal in a previously pristine area. I don't blame anybody for doing that, but it's just sad-so many shoreline areas developed. Guess I wish things would never change.

Oh you poor thing.
If you owned the land and could double or triple your investment I am sure you would also.

Slim.....I think the point of Dr. Joe's post was mainly sharing the heartbreak of losing a big fish, which we all have had happen. He also said "He does not blame anyone for doing that". He understands why it is happening. But as a man who loves the outdoors, and seeing beautiful terrain, it saddens him to see development on the great Lake Fork. I swear I dont understand why so many people need to be so negative on this forum at times, and are so quick to jump on someone. Particularly when he said HE DOESNT BLAME ANYONE. I dont know Dr. Joe personally, but know of him from mutual friends. From what I have heard, he is a great man. I also have seen numerous positive, and informative posts from him on this forum. I love this forum, but sure would enjoy it more if people could keep unnecessary bashing of others to a minimum....

right, its like some of these dudes feel big behind their laptops.

Thanks for the kind words. What Bassbusster said pretty much sums up what I was feeling exactly. And of course I don't blame the owners- I hope it works out great for them. I guess it was just an area that I have fished for many years now, and next year I feel it will look much different. I thought the same thing about the golf course- man those were awesome coves before the wind blocks were removed.
I was using 65 lb braid as well-jagged little stump took care of that.
Lake Fork still remains awesome!

I get your point about wind breaks, but I have found that with the new development comes docks that can enhance these areas. Rarely does the structure change and the big fish will remain. But if you liked fishing that area in your underwear, then that could be a problem..... frkazoid

Docks on Fork are about the least pressured spots but they kick out a ton of fish. My PB came from one there.

I got broke off from a big one myself this morning, in fact it was by the pipeline at Lake's End golf course. It has seemed from my observation that the bigger the sour puss that you come across the the more you are revered on this forum. I agree with the good Dr. But if nobody wouldn't of developed the land I wouldn't have my place either at the greatest place in Texas.

I saw a bunch of new clearing on little mustang. Looks like something is going on.

C'mon Mark everyone knows with all the great cover at Fork the fish don't use the docks.
