Try looking for community lakes or ponds inside city Parks. Bluegill are just about anywhere. Also you can Google area parks in your area which will tell which ones have ponds or lakes in em. Google earth is also good to locate bodies of water in your area. As for having any first hand knowledge on fishing in the Dallas area, I do not. I can say this. Gills are getting more active and should be easy to catch once you find em.

I have the absolute best place to take kids , I take mine all the time and he loves it . Debusk Park
1625 Gross Rd, Mesquite, TX its got a bathroom , water faucet , Dairy Queen right next door . a nice play ground when he gets tired of fishing . and that creek has tons of sunfish and a few nice bass too.Best of all its only about 4 miles from you
