Ok! I'm out fishing today the lake is down about 7 Feet and I noticed all the land owners around the lake are extending the PVC pipes on their irrigation pumps. Thoughts on this?

Is it legal to do that? Honest question.

Yes it's legal. And they only pay about $100 a year for their irrigation bill. I have a couple friends that have multi-million dollar homes on the water and they both told me their bill was less than $100 a year. It's insane the amount of landscaping they have too.

Man that just seems wrong. They ought to be paying for water that comes out of that lake for their yard just like the rest of us. Watering from your own farm pond is one thing. Watering from a public lake is something else.

It's been like that for a long time, not really a huge problem, IMO.

All the extra run off goes directly back in the lake....

On Fork you can get up to an 1.5" pump and pump as much water as you want during the year for about $100. That's all SRA charges.

IMO it is a problem. Most of them water during the heat of day, most let stations run longer, & more than 2 days a week. More evaporation so not all that goes out runs back in. Should have to pay same amount as citizens watering with meters. Terror as for as paying more for property doesn't give the rights to the public water. Would like to know how many are getting (stealing) water from lakes that the authorities don't even know about

It may be an issue now but it won't be a problem this summer cause there won't be any water for them to use. You bass boat guys better get out there while you can. Gonna be a long, no rain, dry, hot summer.

The real problem is all the water that is being let go to the Combine water treatment plant. Every drop of rain we get they suck it out the East Fork. Hubbard should be full right now with all the rain its got since last fall.

hmmm what rain? And just because it rains doesn't mean water goes to any lake the ground is like a sponge it soaks up all the water, until the ground becomes saturated with water there's not going be run off.

We are 7 inches behind for just this year.
The 2nd driest start of they year ever.
