Ok so I live in Southwest Fort Worth and thanks to a housing project they drained the best pond in this area to fish at. Talking bone dry last summer. So I have been trying to find somewhere the kids and I can go and actually catch fish. Not worried about bringing any home they just like catching them and letting them go back to be honest really doesn't matter what they are catching as long as they can catch fish.
Our problem is almost everywhere is bone dry or is so low on water its not worth it, ( Benbrook Marina is sitting in less than 2 feet of water ) we hit Chisholm Park this past weekend and after about two hours the kids were bored with not catching anything..

we have been hitting the spots posted on the map and have not had much luck. anyway just thought I would ask if anyone local is having better luck?

It's about a twenty minute drive but does Squaw Creek golf course in Willow Park still allow fishing? Most of the lake isn't even within sight of the course but you have to go thru the entrence to get to it.

It's been 20+ years since I lived in Fort Worth, but Squaw Creek is pretty, wasn't crowded, and had bass, crappie, sunfish and catfish.

Squaw Creek ? Is that the same place that General Dynamics used to own ? I played many rounds of golf there when I worked for GD over 40 years ago. I heard many fish stories about the lake, but never fished it myself. Who owns the place now ?

Yes, same place. My Dad worked for GD so I could buy a membership for seven bucks and you didn't need a licence. I have no idea who owns it now or if the golf course is public or private. If it's public I don't see why you wouldn't be able to fish it because most of the lake isn't really on the course.

Tried the Bedford Boys Ranch yet? Have a look and see if it might be within reasonable driving distance / straight shots on freeways. Nice facility from what I remember, but haven't been out there in years.
