Which of these two chips is the better mapping chip?
I have a Hotmaps Premium South SD/Prem-S3 Vol 1.18 and a Hotmaps Premium 09 South 8D/Prem-85 Vol 1.20
I think one of these has better maps and shows creeks, etc. better.
can anybody help me out on which one is the better version.
Thanks

The S3 is the 2007 year issue and has red lines for creek channels. Some like that even though the accuracy in a lot of places is low.
The S5 is the 2009 year issue and is the last year that the yearly cards were produced.
After 2009, Navionics lost its license to publish some features like creek channels and roads so all that had to be added back to their published maps and they are doing it differently as they re-survey locations.
Starting in 2010 (S6) all cards are updateable and will have current maps when updated today.
As far as other content, the 2009 version will have more waters and more waters with HD contours.
"Better" depends on your preception. The best way to determine which, is to view them on your unit to see if they have the detail you want where you want it.
A particular lake may have no contour lines or few contour lines in the S3 version and be HD on the S5 version.
