What I call a Goggleye.
Not sure why that is just what my grandpa called them. Just a breed of perch that is all.

The official common name is a warmouth...scientific name is Lepomis gulosus.

Warmouth, although some get these confused with rock bass. The best indicator is the dorsal fin. As shown in the picture it looks jagged and then towards the end the edges become smooth. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/wild/species/war/ Follow the link above for a proper diagnosis.

Warmouth, stumpknocker or goggleye are various regional names for the fish you caught.
Tasty critter with no State mll or bag limit. Keep any and all that you want.

Warmouth. I've caught 'em on 6" Culprit worms before. they will eat anything, fight well on ultra-lite, and eat well, too -B

It is one of the bridges at Ray Roberts enterance into Buck Creek. Funny thing I took the boat up there and it would not start so my 10 yr old and I did a bank fishing. We caught several Bass, the Warmouth, bunch of perch and a 7-8 pound flat head. All on worms in about an hour and a half. It was fun.
