Coleto Creek is just south of town. It is shallow and clear (usually) and can be waded or you can walk the bank.
You can sight cast to pan fish and bass.

Jeez, so close to salt. SO CLOSE. Is there water in that creek now? That's snake country - be careful.

Coleto creek off of 77 right before Chubby's, park under the bridge and wade upstream. There is a great small population of Rios in there that love buggers and hopper patterns. You will also find some good bass in there also.

If you can gain access, Coleto Creek above the Schroeder bridge is excenent all the way to Arnold rd.

Brandon at the Tackle Box keeps a great selection of flies from Umpqua.
Every Friday at 6pm Dave has a happy hour/get together at Swanpoint Fly Shop in Rockport.

I will be in Victoria the end of May if you wanna fish Coleto

Orvis Plano Ben. Have you had any luck gaining access at the Schroeder bridge? If work permits I'll be interested in going at the end of may

Stunning fish! Beautiful. Makes me want to move back home to South Texas!
