for numbers I like a top shelf 4" in spot candy. I would just "match the hatch " in your lake. if I am confident in a bigger bite I will fish a 6"+ but I don't expect many bites. I know they eat up that top shelf for some reason.

I haven't Fished the Texas Lakes as Much as I would like to have, but in Ms,, La and Al I seem catch almost as Many Good Keeper Fish on a 5 inch as I Do Big Fish,, it gets Funny sometimes catching a Yealy Bass on a 5 inch Swimbait and you think to yourself his Eyes are Bigger then his Mouth and Stomach lol .

Best on Fork right now seems to be 7".

My favorite hollow belly is a Basstrix Paddletail Swimbait. Best color for me is yellow perch (looks like a bream.) Best size is 5" or 6". I throw the six mainly. I fish these on belly-weighted Owner twistlock swimbait hooks.
For line thru swimbaits I like the Osprey Talons in 6" and 7", Light hitch and Dark Hitch are my go to colors.
For a heavy, bottom bouncing swimbait it's hard to beat the Storm Wildeye Swim Shad. Best sizes for me are the 4" and 5". best colors are Bunker, Pearl and Mullet.
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

The Smallest I ever throw is 3.5 but thats on a A Rig,,, I will use 3.5 on the 4 outside Arms and a 5 inch in the center around the House,, But at Guntersville I will have either 5 - 4 inch and sometime 5 - 5 inch on a A Rig,,, But the Last Trip over there I Had the Best Luck on a Single 3/4 Oz Jig Head Exposed Hook with a Fringe Tackle SB.. I hadn't used that Brand till last trip over there and a Guide there showed us them,, I couldn't get Over How Soft (GEL Like) feeling those baits were, But they held up Great to some Multiple Big Fish catches and also caught us some Good Keeper Fish In the Sealy Big Bass we were all over that 3.00 and 4.00 fish trying to Cash that check lol..

Lake Fork Magic Shad, 5.5 inch, watermelon red and seed, get bit a lot with few dinks, mostly keepers and catch some nice chunks too.
