Always have your phone/camera/recording devise accessible. Don't be hesitant to call 911, GW or lake office. Keep your cool and get as much info needed without geting yourself in danger. Expect the unexpected.
Report it ASAP.
Be safe out there.

I always expect the worst and therefore am always pleasantly surprised. In my 20ish years of yakking, I have had only 1 real exchange with a boater. Just pulling out the cell phone and pointing it at the boater while we had our "discussion" kept the exchange limited and from escalating IMO. Oh yeah, my phone was dead.

As I read these post I understand frustrations , I see potential threats of bodily harm, then I see post scripts of quoted scriptures and prayers saying to look for the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst etc,
I wonder who is the worst.
Just remember, WWJD

I'm thinking the guy is a bully who tried kayaking to see what all the rave was, and decided he didn't like it because he had a hard time bullying people so he sold his kayak and started bassboat fishing again. Now he tries to run over kayakers just because they are enjoying themselves and he's miserable! Must be fun to be him, wouldn't you say?
Just one more cast!

I had a run in on LA about two years ago. When all the boat ramps were close. Had lake all to my self so I thought. Had 20'bass boat buzz me same way. Miss him with my rattle trap by few feet. Thinking back ,not sure what I could or would have done if he came back after me.Head on. Gun was in truck.(cc permit) Felt I was safe on lake I grew up on. That said. If I knew what truck and trailer he was driving. Maybe leaving the lake with 6 to 8 valve stems. Would have made me feel better.

I'm primarily a river yakker, and therefore don't have to deal with power boaters, except for an occasional air boat or two, and most of them are courteous. Too bad you had to deal with that a$$hole. A camera with a zoom would have been handy.

maybe i just been really lucky. most bass fisherman i seen are respectful. many just give me a wave and go on about their business. its the drunk joy boaters and water fleas that got me nervous.

Kayaks are hard to see sometimes, ive been in my 23'cuddy cabin and actually passed too close to a yakker and didn't know it until got by him, scared me so I could only imagine what he was seeing and I wasnt drinking. So yes after I got my yaks it does make me nervous to be out in the lanes. The people out there drinking and driving should be a big concern of us "water spiders"

Truly hate hearing stories like this. I would have done exactly what you did, but when that didnt work I just would have waited at the ramp and given that dude a chance to show how tough he was on dry land.

I agree with you, I think assboaters see little yaks and they equate that to little guys..go ahead make that mistake like you said gotta go to dry land sometime

My PFD is fitted with a holster for this very reason .40 cal verses DB with Rattle Trap and a 15yr Bank IOU glitter boat
It would make a great Dorito's commercial . . . . . .
