Yes! I was so mad at myself for not putting them away in the rod locker! I am thinking about trying to drag the bottom with a weight and some treble hooks! Maybe I will get lucky!

We had a blast fishing it, my dad weighed in a 5.02 so close to $10,000. The guy won using a green pumpkin magic fluke. Exactly what we was using the last two days but couldn't find the big ones through all the Kentucky bass, and props to the guy from cali that let the young boy have the triton boat, need a lot more people like him. We had a good time also, and that's the same color fluke I threw the whole tournament, lol. Did he say if he caught it deep or not? We didn't stay for weigh in, with a seven hour drive we left at noon, we were tired of taking waves just setting on our spots. I was sure glad sealy didn't call me like he does if your name is drawn and your not there. Rayburn is a beautiful lake and we met lots of great people. Although that tournament makes a lot of people crazy. We towed in a boat Friday morning that had lost their lower unit and trolling motor. This was about 9 am, they were paddling a skeeter in the main lake near caney. They said they had been broke down for three hours and no one stopped to help them. Good guys, gave us some baits to try and some tips on where to go. Hope they were able to get back out there.

I had boat trouble Saturday was heading to five fingers and almost into the mouth of five fingers the engine just shut down like it ran out of fuel, used the trolling motor to get back to the bank and out of the wind, worked on it on the beach, and that water was COLD lol. Found a broken ground wire on the fuel pump, easy fix and got back on the water, times like that is why im glad I keep some tools in the boat. I havnt heard where any big ones was caught but I do know that all the big fish in the tank at the pavilion looked all spawned out red tail and flat bellies.

I noticed the same thing on the fish, I was curious how long it takes their tails to heal. I sure would have thought the bigger fish would have been on deeper points. We even fished lots of brush piles out on points and the break from flats to deep water with only kentuckys to show. I saw a couple guys sight fishing with ladders on the deck, I didn't even try that or look for any spawning fish.

I just got back from the big bass splash. Over four days of fishing we had over 100 fish with the biggest being 3 lbs. We fished from the bank to 30' and threw everything from frogs to a Carolina rig. The majority of our fish came on light Carolina rigged flukes and jerk baits. We saw lots of schooling fish busting shad. I was just wondering is the small size typical of Rayburn. I know lots of big fish were caught. Were we just doing the wrong thing or is it that with that many people some are just gonna catch big ones. Just curious of others experience there. I usually fish for crappie, but bass are a lot of fun as you know. I live on Rayburn and would say 1-2# bass are common (smaller too), 3-6# not so much but will show up. Bigger I have hooked em but never caught one, so they are monsters in my mind. Also a bass tourney feller came into the cove I was fishing, we caught a 5# bass and were crazy excited, he caught a monster right where we were fishing and left a few minutes earlier. Dooh! So go figure?
