I just moved to texas recently from illinois. I don't have a boat so these big lakes are pretty hard for me to fish since I'm not used to those kind of waters. I fished a lot on rivers ponds and creeks back home. Anyone have any advice as to where I can hook into some nice texas bass from a shore or a good pond somewhere. I'm currently in arlington. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also if there's a good place where I can catch some nice flathead I love catfishin too! I got angling fever and it can only be cured one way!

I haven't personally fished at these locations, but I have seen lots of others TFF members post about them.

Lake Tawakoni
Ray Hubbard
Lake Fork
Joe Pool Lake
Eagle Mountain Lake

Check out more in the bass and catfishing section.

Not sure where you are in Arlington, but if you're looking for some pretty easily accessable water, I would try the Trinity in Fort Worth. Lots of accessablity through the trinity trails, and should be about 15-20 minutes from you.

Welcome to Texas! Glad to hear you got here as fast as you could texas cheers
