The feed bags were on!! Caught fish on Top waters, live bait and soft plastics!!!
Fridays trip started off great and had to leave them biting!! Pulled off the fish at 11:30 to go clean fish so they could get back and have a fish fry!!!

Saturdays trip was pretty much carbon copy of Fridays trip!! Loaded the box up and had to start chunking overs back early! Caught several large fish on top waters as well up to 10 pounds!!!

Sundays trip I took a different approach since I had two young girls and a dad in the boat and with possible storms coming I did not want go far from cover so I could make a quick run back and we did do that! I knew were I could load the boat on smaller box fish on Moe's Tackle Shop Cocahoes and that is what we did!!! Before the storms showed up we probably caught 80 fish with a couple overs in the mix nothing real big! Went in hid from the storms and then went back out to try and get some big overs! Found some and caught few nice overs in the big waves and they decided to call it a day. The big groups of fish seem to be moving west but maybe not just seems that way!!

Few pics from this weekend!

Winds were over 20 MPH. I don't care if every fish was a 20 ponder there was no way I was going to be on Texoma in that wind. Your boat must be a pretty good size one to be fishable in that wind.

Nice fish by the way.

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

Yeah I know. the last big kill, there were still a few that spawned. It was the best topwater I ever had. I know the 400 Threadfin shad that the OK Fish and Game released that year, didnt repopulate the lake...LOL

Nice pics! You'll brought up some good questions I was wondering about the shad and the cold winter. I went to big T last wknd and caught zero stripes but did pretty good on bass. My ? Is I realize with the cold winter there was a shad die off and the bitterly cold winter things are a little behind. In that case will the strippers get done spawning and just kinda hang in the river channell looking for whatever they can find to eat or will they still be on points shallow? Do they gizzards also go shallow to spawn or do they stay deep? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Will be there in the middle of May for a vacation and also a morning trip with JD can't get here fast enough!

Typically for a productive spawn from everything I have read the Stripers will head up the rivers because the eggs require a certain amount of flow! Lots of stuff on internet about it. Some fish may just reabsorb the eggs and milt or try to spawn in creeks or on flats!!! I think some fish already went up and spawned and came back!!! Had s couple reports of big fish with no eggs or milt being caught! As far as patterns the fish will be forced to go where the food is until the water temps force them deep!!
