Hognose are toad specialists. They actually evolved a pair of razor-like teeth in the back of their top jaw. Toads will inflate their bodies with air and make it difficult for a snake to swallow them. The hognose snake uses its rear fangs to puncture the toad and make it manageable to swallow.
