Jeff (Smokingunz) and son came by and picked me up at 4:30PM today. The objective was to show him several of the CC fishing spots and demo the Mepps method. We started at East Hump, and it was loaded with big whites and hybrids. The boy started catching fish right away and Jeff did after I used his rig to demo how to work the Mepps. While we were there TFFer John and 2 friends joined us. We all caught fish for a while, then Jeff, boy and I headed to ID some other spots. We marked Saint Annes East and Long Ridge. Then marked and stopped to fish Mid-lake Hump, which was also loaded with fish. We caught 7 hybrids and a bunch of big whites before moving on to mark more spots including: Key ranch Drop-off, Key Ranch North, 3-Jug Hump South, 3-Jug Hump and Merimac Point. By then (6:20PM) it was time to get me back to the wife.

Jeff had the biggest hybrid at 26 inches and 9 lb 11 ozs. All of us were using #4 Mepps.

Heck yeh that's really cool of you to go out with them to teach them your method of fishing.

Colby definitely caught on much faster than I did. After dropping you off we went back to mid lake hump and tore them up. By the end of the day we were catching almost every cast. Colby didn't let me leave till almost dark. Thanks again Dennis. I will never forget this. You are welcome in my boat anytime!!! God bless.
