thinking of making self contained jumper systems for our boats, this will let you jump start from the drivers seat without hooking up anything should you need a jump start. all inclusive with detailed instructions and can be self installed in about an hr. looking at pricing at about 200.00

I believe I saw where Ranger offers this as an option or maybe standard equipment on their boats. Something like this. http://www.charlesindustries.com/main/startnow.html

I saw your Seacast pics. I'd bet people would rather pay you a grand than do it themselves. Good job.

Even if it's already out there see if you can build a better mouse trap!
Here's one I tried to get off the ground in the early 90's when I had endless frustration with dead batteries. I was designing a device that would sense voltage and switch two batteries out of series to parallel to allow the boat alternator to charge each battery. I also setup my boat with heavy cable that ran from the pickup battery to the bumper and then built a cable to connect between that plug and the trolling motor plug (4 prong). That way your pickup alternator could charge your boat while heading to the lake. (and of course the switching device was needed to take the batteries out of series.)
There were two diodes I needed that would trigger at charging voltage were not available then and the custom build costs were around $40k. The device and the jumper system are available retail now. I'm not sure why the jumper system from the truck to the boat isn't used more.
All that to say I shouldn't have given up on the idea. Don't give up on a good idea!

I am gonna build 10 when I get the cash together, just to see what happens. will install first one on my boat and do an install video too. paper directions should be plenty as it will be simple to install. I currently carry jumpers and even with the cost you at least get more room in storage space for other junk. lol.

Hey there! I would be really interested to see if anything came from this project. I could sure use that self contained jumper system right about now.
Any new pictures on the system?
