I would probably try to screw it up trying post the link, but it is the thread titled "Seems it's not just bridges and boat lanes".

I would outfish that guy any day of the week in a tube, kayak or boat. In fact that would have been the perfect time to catch a fish, while he is looking at you. He is not mentally prepared to be on the water. And his use of profanity towards you indicates that he is not proficient in using the English language, and needs to make up for his stupidity by using profanity. Loser, he'll get his in the end.

Every close call should be a learning experience for all. I have no doubt the boat guy was in the wrong flying by so close to you, but how were you not prepared for it's wake when you first heard it approaching?
For kayakers:
1. Never assume someone sees you. 2. Be prepared to paddle at first sign of approaching power boat. 3. Never let a wake hit you on beam. 4. A quick lift/signal of paddle lets boater know you are concerned. 5. Get comfortable with big boat wakes, you should never fear them. 6. Always keep your paddle handy.
For boaters: Maybe just hold up your hand as you make a slight course correction away from kayaker to let him know you see him and continue on plane. I don't expect folks to slow down and come off plane just because I'm in a kayak if they wouldn't have to if I were in a boat. Anyone in a kayak that worries about a wake made by any boat should practice more in rougher conditions.

bigred & I were on LA anchored down with our lights on one night. Same boat came waaaaay too close to us TWICE in the same night. Have also had pleasure boaters run over my lines while trolling. Once time opened my spool & gave them all of my braid. Most stay clear and r respectful but a handful need a good attitude adjustment and should not be able to captain any vessel. When im on my seadoo or powerboat I do my Best to give everyone plenty of room to roam. Its not "my" lake or "my" hole.

I guess I've been lucky, or just far enough away from a big metro area, or just because I fish smaller lakes and rivers, but so far I haven't had anything but pleasurable experiences with boaters. Maybe it's just because I haven't been yaking for long. I've had boaters slow down and wave as they pass, power down and idle past while chatting with me, offer me a ride back when the wind picked up a lot, even had a boater give me a couple flukes he had been having good luck with that particular day. The only time so far I've had a boat fly by me I was tucked under a low hanging tree and hard to see. He saw me just as he was passing and yelled out "Sorry bud" with his hand in the air.
It's too bad there's folks like that around. They aren't just on the water though, they're on the road too and act just the same. Now that spring/summer is coming more and more people will be using the water. The polite, the oblivious, the rude, the ignorant. We cant control other peoples actions so just like while riding my motorcycle we've got to practice "defensive driving" and always assume your invisible.
I think you handled this as good as you could have given the circumstances. You did the best you could to record the event, gathered information on him, reported him and made it public for all of us to both learn from and possibly find him/call him out on his immature and unsafe behavior. Judgment day comes for us all.

I have had quite a few boats run to close turn into the wake and ride up and over them. Just sad when a jerk like this ruins a nice day on the lake

I haven't met any "a-hole" yakers yet. That doesn't mean non are out there. But I have seen my share of "a-holes" in a big boat acting as if they owned the lake. That being said, I have met plenty of nice people in boats too. Aholes come in all shapes and sizes, get around in all kinds of rides. just sayin...... To the OP. Feel you Bro. Had -BASS-Fishermen-.
