It's tough this time of year because of the shad spawn. In the morning you can catch some on the bulkheads.

Yeah, shad poppin everywhere. I fished Caney & Dad's Tuesday, only 3 fish... but fat (with shad I'm guessing). Gonna hit south lake tomorrow, location dependent on the wind. Wind is SSE today, calling for East tomorrow & SSW for the weekend. All catches I've had & heard about were really tight to structure. Kickapoo was the same last week.

My folks have a house on the southside of the lake but until this year I've never fished it. I have two young boys (4 and 2) and have taken them out for whites but I'd like a few high probabilty spots for largemouth.
Can someone PM me? The old 190 road bed is about as far as their attention span will let us run right now, what are some decent areas south of there for largemouth?
Thanks.

I was out there last weekend too and it was tough as I've seen it in a long time. I did manage to catch a decent limit in the fog Sunday morning, but it was a grind after that fog lifted. And did anyone else notice a bunch of dead shad floating all over the place, or was it just me?

We saw dead shad and lots of small dead catfish. And yes the fishing was tough!
