I'm looking at both also, for the power pole guys, when you deploy them to get them lower to get in the garage, don't the poles theirselves hit concrete and prevent you from backing in?
I would need the top of the power pole to be lower than the height of my engine cowling to clear the garage door. It looks like the Talons will fold down on the deck solving my clearance problem. You can lower them as much or as little as you need to. Thanks Happykamper. Maybe I need to give more detail. To get my boat in my garage, I have to lower my engine down and that's cutting it close. So, I need the power poles to be the height of my engine or less. For the power poles to get that height, won't the fiberglass rods hit concrete and keep the power poles from lowering to the height of my cowling?

You'll be fine. I have the exact same situation with my garage and there is still plenty of clearance between the PP spike and the ground with the top of the pp lowered below the top of the motor. Just remember to back half way in then raise the pp back up before putting the boat all of the way in.

I'm looking at a 12' foot talon. I like the idea of being able to anchor in 10 fow or maybe a touch more. seems like it would come in handy at times. I'm probably a little more confused now than ever about them!

I know a guy could not get his pp up ... Sounds like he needs a Rx to fix that problem

Justfishingtoday, I am definitely in the "have 8ft, want 10 ft" club! I have seen a few 10's for sale stating that they had installed the 8's. I need to find someone wanting to trade.
