This has just started happening on the last 2 trips and I am hoping someone has a fix. I have a 788ci HD DI. I power on the unit, takes a minute or two but GPS connects fine and pinpoints my location as it normally should. Throughout the day, I receive messages across the screen that says, "GPS Antenna not connected" and the GPS is not working. The unit has an internal GPS and I am not using a GPS puck. When this happens, I can turn the unit off and back on again and the GPS starts working normally again. Sometimes the GPS antenna connection will last an hour, sometimes only for 2 minutes. I have checked the connections and everything looks fine. Any ideas??

Oh, and FYI, I have recently updated the software but don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Send it in and have it checked, you may have an interior connection that is loose or has a broken connection.

May try and tilt the scree to a more vertical position. My partner has the same issue and his is on a ram mount and if you push to far forward it does not pick up the signal.

Don't the HB's do that when the voltage drops below 12.5 or something similar? Might be worth researching if you're running it on the cranking battery.

My 858 was doing the same, wired straight to battery w/in-line fuse and resolved it from freezing up. I also loose connection at times try what SkeeterDon says, is the puck clear of any obstacles (360 deg)?

GPS is internal in the unit and doesn't have a puck....
