Hi all, I have a buddy from CA flying in for a work trip Tuesday afternoon for 1 night. Figured I could take him fishing here for a couple hours.

Never been to this Lake before. I have a 17ft fish and ski. Coming from South Ft Worth.

Looks like light North wind that night. Any tips on where to launch? Areas to maximize our time? I hear some folks talk about theft out there, I assume isolated cases.

I am catch and release guy so they will be back in there for you tourney guys at that Lake.

Thanks!

His hotel is in Arlington and his flight gets here at 5:00. Only gonna have a couple hours so need a close lake.

I saw the results of their weekly tourney. They caught some nice size ones last week.

Yup it took 18lbs to win in the workin mans tournament with 3 fish. Everyone I saw went to the dam. I'd try it. But it's a hit or miss. Can't go wrong with flipping docks! Good luck!!

Launch at one of the 2 Arlington side parks, and don't forget to pay the $5 permit fee. Nice ramps and dock at Arkansas Lane ramps, and it's close to the dam.

I was out there yesterday and couldn't find bass anywhere. Ended up catching a few crappie and a catfish... all while fishing for bass. Thought I had finally found a couple bass on a bed, only to discover they were gar. Then noticed that there were gar EVERYWHERE!

Thanks guys, looks like I will try to launch at Eugene McCray Park or the one on Arkansas Ln.

At least we will catch a few Silver bullets if nothing else... thumb

Better catch them after you get off the water. Unless they have changed the rules,...no alcohol allowed anywhere on the lake or in the parks. Just an FYI if you didn't know.

I have watched folks drink there but just never wanted one bad enough to risk a ticket.

Take him to Hooters up on little road / I-20 when yall are done.
