 899 question!!

I just installed a 899 and the si screen has black lines on it most of the time. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this before.

Is there anything blocking the sonar signal on the sides? The transducer has to have a clear path on the sides, nothing can block the signal. Post pics pf the transducer install showing the location of the transducer and the back of the boat

I had one of my 998 do the same thing. Went online and got the newest update, problem solved. Try that first then contact humminbird.

When do you get the black lines, when scanning at fast idle, sitting still, on-plane??? Where is the transducer attached to the transom? Post a screen shot of what you are seeing.

If you just pulled it out of the box do like Champ said, get the latest software update.

I will try to post some pictures later today. But it is mostly while I'm idling kind of quickly and also if I get in water more shallow than 12 feet.
