Could you make some different views of the tank?

I have to extend the return pipe so it doesn't make so much noise when the water pours back into the lake.. I'll post another video from the other side of the boat slip after its all done. I have to check if the gizzard shads I put in there along with the minnows survived anyway.

This is a great idea.

I have been leaving my wife's minnows in the minnow bucket in the slip water but some die each time. This looks as if it would do a better job of keeping them alive over the minnow bucket. clap

I had the same problem so this was my solution. I feed them some of the plankteon that accumulates under the lights that I also put in the slip. I presume thats what they eat.

This looks to be a well designed bait tank for your slip. One that would be easy for any of us to duplicate now that you have shown us how. smile

However I am not sure why it would function any different than a minnow bucket that is left in the water at the slip.

Why would it do a better job of keeping minnows alive?

Is it just that it is bigger? Or does it provide a better movement of water within the container?

EZ, those were some questions I asked myself and came to the conclusion that it's probably the movement of water that helps keep it oxygenated well as opposed to sitting in the water when the wind is almost nil especially in a small container. I noticed most of the dead minnows would have some sort of growth around them also probably due to lack of water movement. The evidence so far has shown that I have yet to find a dead minnow in there the last couple of weeks.

I caught that this time. rolfmao

OK, I think I understand now. I have also noticed the growth on the dead minnows. Plus it works, which is what matters in the end.

So as soon as I am allowed to function again I am going to make one for my wife's minnows, since she refuses to try jigs. smile

I will admit I occasionally use minnows as well, since I belong to the "whatever the fish want" school of thought, even through I prefer jigs. rolfmao

I appreciate you showing us your projects, as it makes it easy for those of us who are not very creative but are good at copying once we are shown the way. clap
