After reading all these posts, I have never been more convinced that I am confused. Not sure what I will buy. Probably go to discount.

A good friend of my dad's is a "tire" man in Tyler. He told my dad all trailer tires are made in China and are junk. I guess I am not confused anymore.....lol.

Either get trailer rated tires ( good ones ) or light duty truck tires, the load rating will be plenty. The biggest thing is maintain you air pressure!

I agree with Fish Hunter, get good trailer rated tires with the load rating that is suitable for your load.

Anyone ever heard of Gladiator or Omni Trail tires. 2 places here in Tyler carry those brands. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with either one of these. Thanks

Marathons are junk , always check psi in before i leave and when heading back, it does not matter. I would say they make a lot more bad ones than good. You could almost always be sure that has to do with quality control, (see china) !

This what I have. D rated . stronger side walls. you want a better tire for a single axle.

A tire dealer, (Discout Tire - Wal Mart) will not install car/truck tires on a trailer, you have to remove them and take them to the shop off the trailer. with that said I run a light truck tire after several blow outs with trailer tires and have not had any issues.

I had Kumho's mounted today and they look and ride great; boy do they stand up, no sagging tires like Marathon's.
