South west wheel is good I bought lots of stuff from them. I been in big machinery & heavy haul for years I was a field mechanic. Trailer tires are better because the load rating, sidewall, & load speed. Yea stay away from Carlisle havnt seen any thing good with them. Always had good luck from Firestone & Micheline.

I had non radial tires on my trailer, and got a bad case of feathering mainly in the treads on the inboard side of the tires. I was told by the tire shop to switch to radials because they keep the treads sitting flatter on the road and should solve the feathering problem. He said he used to work at the Discount Tire Shop in Weatherford and saw a lot of trailers with the same problem. I am sure this is specific to heavier loads. Well I bought 4 brand new tires, and am planning a 8 hour run to the coast in the very near future. I will post if the feathering re-appears or if the radials fixed the problem.

Thought I would give and update on the Kuhmo tires I purchased (see my post dated 1-8-2012). I like buying American, but I decided to try a Laod Range D tire this time since I have owned many differnt brands of load range C tires over the past 40 years. I could not find an American made Load Range D tire when I was in the market. To date I am very please with the Kuhmo tires I purchased. They recommend to run them at 65 PSI which makes the tire stand very up right (no squating) even on a single axel trailer and a heavy Stratos 285 pro (19 ft). Thread wear so far is very even across the tire. With the load range c tires, I would have seen some uneven wear by now, but not with the laod range D tires. I believe the success I am have is using a load range D vs. a standard load range C tire on my single axel trailer.

The tires will probably dry rot before you use them up. Cheap and replace often

Yea, check out the Kumho 857's. Higher speed rating and load range. Can take the heat on the road alot better. I've heard nothing but good things about these tires and I will be buying these next time. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=Radial+857I used to run with the Discount store theory of there being one everywhere. But, that doesn't matter when you're 4 hours from home on a Sunday night after a tournament on the side of the road. Been there.

Trailer tires only. I replace 'em every 5-6 years,even if they look brand new. No fun changing a flat on I30.

Cowser tire in north Fort Worth took great care of me this morning after I had a blowout on the way home yesterday. New trailer tires & bearings in only about an hour and at a great price too. Thanks Kevin!

bought 5 new car tires for my 14 ft john boat 2 axle ruined 1 every time i pulled it learned my lesson the hard way buy trailer tires

As has been mentioned many times earlier, stay with trailer tires. I also recommend Discount tire. They are very knowledgable and stand behind their products. There is something else to be said about trailer tires and the way the sidewall is made. As was mentioned before trailers have different loads on them. the sidewalls on trailer tires are designed to reduce trailer sway. Can't explain it here but the guy at discount explained it very well, but I have been buying all my tires from the same guy for many years and they have never let me down. Charlie

I just bought two Carlise Radial Trailer tires, 75/80-R13's for $80 apiece at Discount Tires. Best running tires I have ever had. I went with the radials because they are supposed to take storage better than bias belted tires.
I bought the certificates for free replacement, balance, etc. Note the tires are only garanteed for 10 years! The guy said if it had any tread left in 10 years and it blows out, free replacement. That's a pretty good guarantee.
