I have been on solid fish all year on Lake Austin, and want to thank Len from the Ft. Worth area for taking me up on my offer to guide from the customer's boat. We were confronted with the big norther yesterday that had temps at 37 degrees this morning, and fishing the day after a full moon. Len's ultimate destination is Falcon, but he wisely chose to stop on the way, and fish Lake Austin with me for his maiden voyage. We had an absolutely outstanding trip. After catching about 10 fish, I landed one just shy of 7. We went on a good run, and landed about 25 more. (Nearly all keepers). He then landed an 8.50, and I boated a 10.50 a few minutes later from the same area. We seriously lost count, but know we had 40-45 fish. **The last pic, was from my previous outing before my trolling motor went out. Bought a new one the same day. I joined the Minn Kota family now. **If you're interested in a guided trip on Lake Austin, (from your boat, or mine), send me a PM. My website is also in my signature below, along with more info.

Hey Ryan, just to follow up on the post, want to say what a great time we had if anybody needs a guide for Austin give Ryan a call he knows the lake and can put ya on fish, plus a super nice guy. Thanks for a great day Ryan. I'll try and make a long story short. Digging around in storage box, come across old reel (Revo) ask if he likes them and flip it to him, no idea about line still on, about hour goes by, his pole doubles over, says get the net, net in box, pull net out go to extend and handle come alllll the way out, 2 pieces in my hand put back together, he's hanging on for dear life with this fish, finally get the fish in net in boat, he's shaking, HI 5's yada yada, tells me he put that reel on and lands this fish. Have know idea what type, pound test, line was on there but at least 4-5 years old, I said "WHAT" your kidding me, look at pole , yup it was on, sat and laughed. All in all ,GREAT DAY.

Len, I did NOT want to voice my concern to you with that "old"/unknown pound test" line while I was fighting the fish, but you bet, it sure did cross my mind when Bassquatch took me for a run. I did fish one more trip at Fayette with it, BUT changed it out the other day for my trip I had yesterday on Lake Austin. I did not want to push my luck again. I basically did the same program from the back seat again on a client's nice Ranger Z21, and we totally hammered them. We put 70 in the boat. I'll be out there some more mid-week.
I really enjoyed fishing with you. It was obvious you knew your stuff. I've been telling my fishing buddies about your catch. That thing would have easily gone double digit, if it was packing some girth.
