So to make a long story short I was going to trade in my 2008 nitro cdx929 with merc 250 pro xs on what I thought was a z119c. I wanted a z520c but figured it was out of the budget. Anyhow we had to go to Cablelas last Friday for the trade evaluation on the nitro. While there I had some questions for my salesman Andrew about the z119c. So i ask him questions about upgrading the trolling motor and electronics and he takes me out to a boat and says you mean like this one? I said yes. I want this trolling motor and this graph. He says you boat will have all of this stuff. Just like this boat... Which was a z521c!! I was confused n said I thought it came with different options?? My wife in the back ground who I was not paying attention to was videoing me and said this is your new boat!!! I was so shocked and surprised I got choked up and needed a moment to myself. What a great woman I have right?!!! Well like I said I was wanting a 520c because of the speed. I could have said I don't want this boAt I want a. 520... But what a prick move that would be on my part. So here is my question. Is this z521c with evinrude. 250 HO with atlas hydraulic jack plate going to perform and be as fast as my nitro. My nitro would run!! Hit 73 in her once on gps. What kind if speeds are y'all seeing out of this set up. I know there is no comparison between ranger n nitro as far as quality goes. You just don't hear the words FAST and RANGER in the same sentence. I am really worried that I will not be satisfied with the speed of this big boat. Thanks everyone in advance!!

He makes the experience great!! We looked at a skeeter from fun n sun first. They took the fun right out of buying a boat. Again. Andrew is great!! Always returns phone calls and is full of helpful knowledge. Highly recommend him. Tell him mike Streminski sent you and he will go to work for you!! He is at ft.worth location.

I was just kidding..lots of folks would love to have this 'problem', but you do need to get what you really want for this kind of money...I have never heard anyone complain about going from a Nitro to a Ranger...

your boat should run as good as your nitro. that boat runs anywhere from 68-72 depending on the load it's carrying. i've heard of a few that run a little better, but not by much

Andrew sold me my 1st stratos.. great guy for sure...I am now a skeeter only kinda person. I drank the kool aid.

We looked at skeeter. Fun n sun acted like they didn't want to sell us a boat. So we moved on.

The speed u might loose u will forget about when your in rough water the first tlme.....I have a 521 04 model and i have enjoyed my first 10 years with it.... That girl is a keeper....

You were looking at a new 19' Ranger, you wanted a 20' Ranger and your wife bought you a 21' Ranger. Just give her a hug and consider yourself a lucky man. That's a more expensive boat than 99% of fishermen will ever own. Don't worry about a couple mph here or there.

FWIW, the ETEC is the fastest of the 3 big motors out now, especially on a Ranger. Here's an article about a Z520 with an ETEC 250 HO that got to 76.2 mph. I don't think speed will be a problem.
