 Keel Guard replacement

I realize replacing an old Keel Guard is time and labor consuming. I would like to know the best and easest way to get the old adhesive off .

Acetone after heating with a heat gun and scraping off all you can.

I just did this saturday and what a chore. I used the 3m adhesive remover as Acetone would not touch it for me. The heat gun got it to soften up but would not release the adhesive. I had to repeat the spray, wait and scrape meathod for about two hours. It will come off just takes some time.

Where do you get the adhesive remover? I am will doing this before long.

Try Acrysol it's a automotive body solvent. Should be able to get it at any auto paint store. I have used it to remove vinyl stickers it works much better than acetone. It is also good for removing wax.
