Hello all,
Is Float Tube fishing allowed on Rayburn? Any particular rules or regulations that you know of?

Thank you in advance.
Dave

That buck bay gator is pretty big, but he's nothing in comparison to the twin brothers that live in Hollywood. Those guys are huge and they're tag teaming their kills too.

Sure no problem, no regs other than have a valid fishing license. You can fish under the bridges but there is some traffic, but great fishing. Good luck and enjoy!

Five Fingers.

Good access, good fishing, and almost always protected from the wind.

Go the ramp area and walk though to the south shoreline and put in. Follow the shoreline around to the east.

Plenty of lodging nearby, Powell Park, Last Resort, ect.

Met some guys last week at Powell fishing out of Kayaks. They were struggling with the wind and accessing protected water. I sent em over there and they caught a 6 and an 8 along with a bunch of "Just Fish".

Good luck.

We used float tubes for years until we started seeing alligators in almost every cove or creek. There are some very large gators in both Rayburn and Steinhagen!! We only fish from boats now.

Stay to the southern areas or you are likely to run into a gator. Up by san Aug park there are quite a few pushing 10' and I've seen one made my 21' skeeter feel small. One cove up that way was home to about ten gators of different sizes from 6' up. But five fingers would be a good place, maybe tiger creek or squirrel creek if you can get your car close enough.

Regardless if you see them or not during the day, there are mature gators in every creek on Rayburn. With that being said, I would not let them bother you. No reason you can't fish from a float tube. Use common sense and stay out of their way, especially during the spring.

Yeah if it was me I would not be getting any back waters with a tube. I would think 5 fingers would be ok. course u gotta deal with boat traffic in those areas.
