I am not a big micro guide fan but I am looking at a Lew's SL76HFC which is a 7'6" heavy flipping rod. I would like to hear any opinions on how micro guides do with braid line and heavy flipping type situations. Any thoughts on this rod also would be appreciated.
Thanks

I used to fish Falcon, I've used a lot of braid. I am of the opinion that braid casts better good with micro guides. Most of my rods are micro guide. I think micro guides cast braid better than regular guides, but that's only my opinion. I like micro guides, they don't get tangled as much and very easy to get in and out of rod box. As far as the rod you mentioned, don't know anything about Lews rods, I use their reels but not their rods.

Thanks, Billy

Thanks, I had heard that people had problems with them breaking under heavy use but sounds like they held up ok for you.

We have built some flippin rods I have used mictos but I prefer usinf the larger magnum micros guides but these are are only availible on custum rods.

One you build and fish with your own hand built custom rod you will fish with nothing else!
