Castaway is another rod manufacturer that you just cant go wrong with, the guys in Montgomery really have their act together.

Tried them out at the Boat Show in Houston. I have a number of Castaway Rods and I really like them but, compared to other options, I was less than impressed with this series.

I havent seen one in person yet, what material are the grips? In pictures it looks like someone unstitched a basketball and sewed it onto a fishing rod.

I was by their shop last week and they had a few on the rack in the front that I got to look at. The grips say WINN Grips. The same company that makes the higher end grips for golf clubs.

I have used Winn grips before on my golf clubs and love the feel. Unless, they have changed, these grips don't hold up very well when you sweat a lot. The grips on my rods will see sweat, sunscreen, and who knows what else during the summer.
Like the rods, just outside of my price range.

The invictus is priced way high so I went with the Castaway Go2. They changed the green Castaway logo to a red on the one I found at academy, but it is the best rod I have ever owned. Especially like the short handle with the cork handle split in the middle. Got it in 6'6".
Few men ever reach, in any one direction, the limits of their possibilities. As in commerce, so here, the relation of supply to demand rules. Our mechanical and intellectual forces increase or decrease according to the demands made upon them. He who uses most will have most to use.
