Yes but after any recent rains the water gets super muddy down there and can make it tough to fish.

i've caught some sketchy looking bass out of that place; they were full of open sores. wear gloves and don't get the water in your eyes or mouth lol.

Biggest bass I've personally caught and seen was in the 5-6lb range. Heard stories of bigger and Im sure there are some swimming around in there. The water isnt that bad it just collects a lot of trash from run off.

Thanks. Even with all the litter in and out of the water it looks really clean and doesn't have a foul smell to it nor do the fish I've been catching. They all seem to be really healthy and strong. I was just curious if there where any 6+lb fish in there. You've confirmed that there might be a few toads swimming around. smile

Yes there are some big ones swimming around in there. I have caught a few odd looking bass out of there as well. The water can get extremely clear in the summer time when the hydrilla really gets going. Thats when i like to fish it the best!

My dad and I go hit up those ponds occasionally... went out Sunday and he caught a decent sized female crappie. We were both kinda puzzled at first because I didn't think there were any out there. He thought it was a "large-mutant bass" at first, lol.

I have heard that there are crappie out there as well but have never seen or caught any. What did he catch it on? My guess is (if the apaprtment complex above still indeed stocks that pond like they used too) That those fish came from the pond by the apartments becuase they stock fish in that one.

He was throwing a small white plastic swimming minnow... she hit about 20 ft. off the bank. Caught a small LMB on the same thing.

If this is the place I am thinking of there are tons of fish there, about 20 years ago the aprtments across the road left the pump on and drained everything into these ponds on accident, it made national news and thousands of fish were dying but that was a while ago, I would think these lower locks have tons

I only fish on days that end in Y!

Last time I remember the pond close to the apartments being drained they had drained to to dredge out all the trash and [censored] that had accumulated in it. When my wife was looking at apartments a few years ago we looked there and they said they do still stock that pond with fish. Then take into account that everytime it rains that places gets a ton of runn off and Im sure several fish get flushed down into the lower ponds and eventually all the way into the Trinity. Yes these ponds eventually drain down into the Trinity river!
