Heading to the lake first thing in the morning got everything loaded up and notice my whistle was gone so long story short. Went for a 2.99 whistle and came home with 40.00 worth of stuff. I think I'm more of a sucker for lures then the fish are.

I feel your pain!

On the bright side whistle wise...Walmart had whistles in about 5 locations at varying prices and for various uses when I looked the other day...all "audible".

The good: brand new boat, horn works great

The bad: Trying to replace everything I had in the old boat

Verdict: Wife says Cabela's, BPS, Academy s off limits

I'm on my 3rd boat now. Bought 2009, 2010, and sold them and got the 2013 model. Bought top notch electronics, I pilot, accessories. ..now I'm broke. Wife's said too much fishing gears. With the gas prices these days I'm limited how often I go fishing. Gotta find a 2nd job to support my addiction. Lol. Don't feel bad guys...I'm real bad when I go to those places.

I read this one to my wife and was laughing. She didn't and said, so what's so funny, that is just the norm isn't it? I hesitated momentarily and said, yea it is, sorry for laughing. Close call.

I went to Cabela's the other day and there was a sign above the urinal.

Shopping at Cabela's with your wife is like hunting with the game warden.


I'm not allowed in tackle stores, gun stores, Bass Pro, Cabela's or pawn shops without adult (wife) supervision.

I feel your pain. I walked into Academy last night to pick up a golden rule and that was it .I walked out $88 lighter !!

The wife and I hit BOTH Bass Pro and 2 Academys, one in Baytown and the other in Galveston, this weekend, and I didn't spend a dime.....
The wife on the other hand bought a couple pair of shoes, on sale, of course.

She stated how disappointed she was about the lack of clearance items at the Bass Pro in Pearland, I guess my fishing wardrobe will suffer now.
