Go to Academy and get yourself a folding net. Without one you will continue to lose hybrids. I see it every year.

Thanks for mentioning that folding net. I've wondered if it was worth buying. I like anything that helps me travel lighter.

Crying shame what happened at creek X. That's why it was called X, TFFers were more that willing to help others out & share the real name via PMs but publicly naming it sure changed the game.

If stuff like that keeps happening pretty soon nobody will want to share reports on what's working & where.

Couple days before the creek name was posted there was another guy that asked if anyone could give him the name through PM and I PM'ed him and asked if anyone had given it to him because I was interested too. He said he didn't get anything from anyone. So that's not always the case. Maybe us that don't post as often don't get much responses compared to the regular posters?

But yes it sucks about Creek X because I wanted to go try it after I found it. I actually found it on my own before it was named publicly.

Freaking poachers!!

Looks like the water has risen 2 ft. to a height of about 6.5 feet. Thanks BaffinBay for the link to the USGS site. That's really useful. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/tx/nwis/uv/?site_no=08061540&PARAmeter_cd=00065,00060

For anyone curious, this is measured in Garland just north of Firewheel Mall, south of Sachse on 78.

Quote:
LOCATION.--Lat 32°57′35″, long 96°36′51″ referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Dallas County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12030106, on right bank at
downstream side of State Highway 78 bridge, 400 ft downstream from Spring Creek and 1.5 mi southwest of Sachse.

I'm betting the whole creek is on fire in a couple of days.

Hey guys, if you don't mind, can we keep this thread limited to Rowlett Creek? I know everyone's got an opinion about what went down on that "other creek", but I don't want to clutter this one up.

Hopefully this rain will push the fish further north.

This!

Might as well post this since someone eventually will:
Bring a rope, wear some cleats, and watch your footing. The banks are slick!

That's the truth, TRUTH!

Fish fear me.
