I think it was right at $50 including the beer. I already had the heat gun that is needed. The clips cost me another $20.

I tried the "Coil and Boil" method with the same universal trimmer line and it did not come out half as nice. I wrapped it extremely tight and neat. I used a piece of PVC pipe. Do you think that using wood does something different when it has hot water on it compared to pvc?

Here is a link to make a rod leash. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwGAkC4o_xYThe trick to getting a good tight coil is the reversing the wrap after the cooling of the line.

Dude, Thanks for posting this. I bought all my clamps and clips and have been looking for old spiral cords in my house forever like two weeks now. lol. The line from the weedwacker is a great idea. And I could not find that box on targets website or in the store anywhere!!! I ended up buying the Black pak from yak attack!
