bbfishin ,

I have been to Colorado on several occassions trout fishing at Lake City Co , I agree few if any waters in Texas match the scenery you can find there .

But since many of the members on the forum live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and may have never been where rainbow trout are native , this is a opportunity for moms and dads to take their kids fishing locally for trout larger than I ever caught at Lake San Cristobal .

Heck of alot cheaper than paying hundreds to make a costly trout fishing trip to another state . Unfortunately , any river like the Trinity that runs through a urban area like this one does pick up any trash from careless people .

That said , you do not need a degree in Biology to know that trout trucked in from Missouri , stocked , and are quickly caught up are in no danger to those that fish for them and keep them to eat .

The photo of the water behind me is kind of misleading though , it really does not reflect the way the majority of the river is , anyone that has actually been there knows that .

you know i guess your right there's no way that nasty water could ever get inside those trout....i bet they wouldn't even think about eating a crawdad or worm or well you know.....and i'd also bet there is absolutely no sewer that run's into that river that the crawdad's and worms live in everyday that the trout eat..... eat'um up , ummm ummm good.......

bbfishin ...lol

I will say this for you , you are consistant in your coming on to the Texas Fishing Forum from your home in Oklahoma with the goal to discourage fisherman from taking part in a great stocking program we have here .

Both the Texas Parks and Wildlife , and the Tarrant County Water District use the Trinity in their trout stocking program and they have done so for many years now . Any waters that either agency stocks at is tested to insure it is a safe place to stock fish .

If you really had any genuine concerns about it , you may want to contact the T.P.W.D or the River Authority to express those concerns instead of coming on the forum and trying to cause trouble .

This forum has many purposes , one of the primary ones is sharing fishing information to help others catch fish . That is the primary purpose of this original thread , to encourage others to take thier kids fishing and catch some quality rainbow trout .

You and I joined the forum at approximately the same time , I see you only have 82 post in that time frame . No problem with that , I just wonder how many of your post have been constructive and benificial to the members here .
Judging by the only two post that I know of from you , my guess is very few .

Who comes on to the photo section for the sole purpose of trying to bring others down .

Folks, Gosh knows, nobody knows better than the folks that go to the river about the trash that is floating there. It's bad, no doubt. There is no comparison to the pristine waters flowing out the Rocky Mountains, and I doubt that any of our DFW anglers would dare compare it to that.
However, floating debris doesn't equate to toxic waste. Here in the state of Texas, and anywhere else around the country, are regulatory agencies who sole purpose in life is to monitor water quality. If there was a toxic hazard then there would be signs posted, all over the place, stating such (like there is on Mountain Creek).
The state and the city of Fort Worth stock those trout in there so that folks who might not otherwise have an opportunity to go fishing, let alone catch trout, can do both. They would not do it if they thought they were poisoning the population who is taking advantage of that opportunity.

Please enjoy Mike's pictures and the fact that he is sharing a wonderful opportunity with others who might be interested in catching trout there.

Thanks
cheers

There ia actually one more trout stocking this year from the Tarrant Regional Water District. See their website at www.trwd.com. It will be about 4 miles upstream.

I have suggestion for the trash concerns. Every September, the Tarrant Regional Water District hosts a Trinity Trash Bash in this area. Last year, some 700+ volunteers came out to pick up trash along the banks of the Trinity. It's a great time. We pick up trash from 8-12 and then gather at a central area for a free lunch, games, and prize give-aways. Check the website this summer for details.
Hope to see all of ya'll there!

D Beason,
First of all, let me thank you for the post! Secondly, having never seen your name before and the 30 count I presume you are fairly new to the Forum so I offer a hearty welcome on behalf of J.P. and the moderators!
Finally, if you would create a topic under the Freshwater Fishing Discussion I will gladly "feature" that topic for the clean up if you post it a week or two before it is scheduled, to help generate some TFF interest!
cheers cheers

Bob,
Thanks for the welcome. I do a lot of reading and not a lot of posting.
I will take you up on the free advertising.
Thank you!

folks,

for any of you who are not familiar with the non-angling use of the word "troller" that is what bbfishin appears to be. Here is the definition
In Internet terminology, a troll is a pe...be the activity

Of course bbfishin may choose to disagree but that is his right and he may respond in a non-inflammatory manner if he truly is not (a troller).

Those are some nice Rainbows. My buddy had to go to Alaska to catch some like that, but he also caught some salmon as well.

It sure can help out on the pocket book to just drive to the Trinity.
