[quote=BaffinBay]Nobody is trying to be a jerk about these fishing spots. We just know what happens after they are divulged and it happens very fast. Just got a report that a large group of people were busted at Creek X last night. Game Wardens caught them with cast nets and a gillnet. 1 day. That's all it takes. Buckets and buckets and buckets of fish. They were using totes as well. Good luck everybody... Hey....and the guys that got caught the night after the world got directions to creek X..They had gillnets and cast nets and keeping game fish...I think I figured it out...They go to the big pools and put the gillnets at the top of the creek run and the bottom...then they cast net all the fish out of the holes in between the set gillnets...Nothing can escape that...Thats how they are depleting the fish out of the holes...IMO....I sure the wardens have the other nets and did not see another gillnet at the top of the main trail to the hell hole in the bushes...Carey found another gillnet today stashed in the bushes...He called Texas Parks & Wildlife warden Darren and gave the GPS locations.

Well I went today and the crooks have depleted the creek for sure. I only got seven and missed six. Ran into Carey ,Mike, Lorin and Chuck and his buddy Justin. Carey's client limited out on minnows ( see pic below) Chuck and justin caught a few but Chuck said it was nothing like before the the big gill net sting. It is really disappointing for weekend anglers like myself who wait all week and the bad guys ruin it for us. Thanks for nothing Any way good to see everyone hopefully the next rain will push a few more in and if not Come on topwater Carey's client today at X

Yeah, I was there too Keith. I must have left just before you got there. That kid was super excited. I asked him how many he caught and he said like 100. Then he asked me how many I caught and I had to reply with five... Ended up catching around 20 with five staying on the stringer for the freezer. They liked the tiny flukes this morning. Praying that tomorrow brings some good downpours!

How has it been? Is the miller area even worth fishing? Saw better fish being caught at Miller Rd bridge over the lake side. Not hybrids, but all nice size female sandies. Good parking. Save yourself a long walk. That's really good news for those of us tired of walking miles in our uncomfortable hot rubber boots!

Catch some crappie, hybrids are overrated I think I'm with you on that. I used to catch striper growing up on Texoma. Big fish are fun, but I really enjoy cooking and eating my catch too. For me, it's crappie over any kind of freshwater bass all day. Catfish are up there at the top for me as well, but I know some will disagree with that. There's just something about eating what you catch. Caveman instinct, I guess. Not that I won't eat about everything named <type of> bass, it's just a matter of preference. The wife doesn't care too much for anything fried, which means I don't eat much fried, so we don't roll everything in cornmeal and drown it in grease. Species is a lot more important when it's grilled or pan seared. Don't get me wrong, I hope the sand bass in my freezer will keep the wife from buying those disgusting cesspool raised frozen tilapia fillets at the store for a good long while... Honestly, I'm about ready to start catfishing again. Should be starting to get really active right now. Winter can be tough on a bank catfisherman.

PlanoKeith/DentonDon, I was there this morning too, I think I saw y'all down the way talking to Carey... I was up at the other bend with my son. Mostly 11 inchers. It's definitely not the same at all though. Still had a blast with the kiddo...

I have heard that the fish are still their but they are smaller. I was catching 16 inches on every trip just a few weeks ago. Looks like we will have cooler temperatures this week. Hopefully we can get some more rain.

I was at rowlett creek for 5 hrs and caught 6 sandbass. Mainly on minnows, I tried a bobby garland on a jig head and nothing.

Just got back from fishing this morning at bike park. Water is low and slightly muddy, but it was on FIRE till the heavy thunderstorm passed by. ended with about 35 between the three of us. We hooked into 2 hybrids but couldn't bring them up the bank, and way too muddy to jump down there and climb up. Pretty depressing, next time will have to bring a net.
