Velveeta Fudge This cant be right

1/2 lb. Velvetta cheese

1/2 lb. margarine

Melt cheese and margarine in Micro Wave ( not the highest setting). Make sure it is melted...

SIFT:

2 lbs. powered sugar

1/2 Cup Cocoa powder

Pour the cheese/margarine over the sifted ingredients and stir, stir, stir

ADD:

1 Tbs. Vanilla

1 Cup walnuts...I add more nuts

POUR: onto greased cookie sheet and cool. Cut into squares and freeze!

Keeps for months -- um um good

Vegemite is a spread, it's a yeast extract, I'm not sure what the ingredients are, apparently it's a secret, you know like Colonel Sanders
It's only made in Australia by Kraft (an American Company) but it can bought over the world at specialist food outlets. Australians are the only people who eat it and overseas it's mostly expates who purchase it. Dick Smith is a very much pro-Australian owned and made bloke who is starting up a company to produce all the Australian unique foods that have been taken over by overseas companies, such as Vegemite, Tim Tam biscuits, Arnotts biscuits and the like.

I wouldn't ruin Velveeta with Vegemite. That stuff is so strong it will make hair grow in strange places!

YUK! My wife is a Brit and eats her fair share of Marmite, which I believe is the black sheep of the "___mite" family. That stuff has the consistancy of roofing tar, and the smell alone will make a true, red blooded Texan gag. I'm getting sick just thinking about that smell.

evolution44, that Marmites not real flash to eat, not in the same boat as the old Vegemite.
You fellas really ought to do yourselves a favour and get hold of some and give it a go. Can't guarantee you'll enjoy it but you'll be able to use what ever's left over as an emergency patch up if you hole your boat!

Nah, I'm not keen on that sea poodle, too many teeth for my liking, looks like a nasty piece of work.

They need to make Jalapeno Vegemite then mabey we will give it a taste here in Texas
