They work good. Use 2-4" ones live. Really good for jugs and trot lines. Kinda slow fishing for rod and reel.

I tried some a month ago and didn't do very well, I'm sure they work but I'd get the buffalo

used them several times,never caught a single fish
I didnt buy the ones I used in the past nor will I ever
Cast nets catch all the bait you need to catch any species of cat.

Have caught hundreds of Blues and Ops on goldfish on lines never fished em on rod and reel's tho. Cant imagine why you couldnt catch em on rod and reel??? Would be kinda expensive to cut em up.

If you use goldfish for rod and reel, it's a patience game. Goldfish is a better trotline/river line bait. But, if you take a fresh goldfish cut him up into bait, they work great for drift fishing. From the bank, best to use cut bait, fresh shad or a good punch bait or a worm type bait. Now a small goldfish works good on channels, young blues or small yellow cats. But live bait is a patiences game.

I have never done worth a darn on goldfish. I second the buy a cast net and throw for shad.

I have a cast net could not catch any from dock at boat ramp tryed to buy some black salties but olsons were out tryed to sell big goldfish should have went to fiesta and got a buffalo

Goldfish cost a bit much to me. Plus- like the other people are saying - the bites are few a far between.

ive used them before. we stopped at bubba bait shop on 377 on our way to Texoma. got some good bites. didnt land anything. would still like to try them, just cant seem to not use shad.
