Where are all the carp fishermen on here? You are needed at Fork. Those critters are all over the place out there messing up the water for the bass.

Need to make up your minds ... last year bowfishermen were scourge of the earth that ran loud fan boats all night with bright lights shining everywhere that were ruining the lake. Not to mention the fact that they were mindless and wasteful killers that just wasted a resource.

As with anything, there should be a culling system, I do not mind the Carp and Gar hunters they do a great job in keeping the trash fish in check. They use to have big tournaments on T bend and they would sack up several tons of carp and gar. just saying they need to come clear out Fork at least 2 times a year.

Let me be the 1st to say I don't bow fish and I don't eat carp or gar. But Tons of people I work with love them. The law states not to waste the fish. Those that practice this sport should find people who want these fish before they go. This is NOT Hard To do. Not to stereotype and certainly not all, but many Asians/Indians (from India) and African Americans raised in the south think these fish are an absolute delicacy. Many other groups enjoy these fish, don't mean to leave anyone out. I have a list of people in my phone for when I catch a buffalo/carp or gar. These folks are so happy to get the call the entire family will come out to the lake right then to get the fish. I had a Filipino lady and her husband take over 100 lbs of buffalo. She distributed this to every one in her family and was happy for an entire year. They may be trash fish to some, I enjoy the fight. The point is No fish should not be killed and wasted. I have people from my work remind me weekly that hey still want any one of these fish I may have happened to catch. Also every once and a while I will give some buffalo to friends that catfish. They say it makes fantastic bait. You would be amazed at how appreciative folk who enjoy this kind of fish are!

Yep... I remember taking a lot of heat over bowfishing. They are not harvested (never see people with them at cleaning stations) so they grow in numbers and make it tough on bass beds...

This is the only time of the year i keep bass. Catching them on the bed is easy pickings, if your not seeing many on the beds thats probably why.

Just pray it does not get as bad as Conroe... They are not Grass Carp don't worry. Same carp that have been in Fork since it was impounded. But yes they are big and plentiful and do root up the shallows.
