My dad and I plan to go to Lake Granger, as its close, and it should have fish (Was fishing at Lake Pflugerville for long time, no stock records or any records, and is not on the map for fishing, on the tpwd.state.tx.us site)

We don't have a boat, and would need a place to park, and fish.
Not too far from the truck, and a place where fish are would be nice smile

We're not the best fishermen, I used to bobber a rubber worm, with a circular flat tail, and spray it with the ancient bait spray we have, and caught some 1' catfish and some sunfish, in a very small pond (probably park 10ish trucks over it, is how big it was)

so maybe what lure to fish with? (have been using a white spinner and buzz bait)
10lbs line, that can't deadlift 10lbs (I think it can lift about 7-8lbs)

Thanks,
Swyt

Bump.

Anyone here ever bank fish Lake Granger?

A place that is available to the public.
Where you don't gotta worry about Gators (popular thread, here)
Where snakes are no worry (youtube fishing blooper video)

I wrote more before, but my comment didn't post for who knows what reason.

There are a number of camp grounds around granger that have bank access. Up the San Gabriel river the whites run in the spring.

We got some nice eating size blue cats by the swim beach 2 weeks ago. We were in a boat but where we got them was by the bank. Between the swim beach and the boat ramp on the left (looking from the water to the bank). Fresh shad heads for bait. (cast netted them off from boat ramp) Good luck
