 bait shop in Universal City ?

I was asked by a neighbor where could he buy some worms or shrimp in U.C ? I had no idea..seems like they have all closed. HEB doesn't sell bait shrimp anymore, there was a bait shop on SH 78...it's gone.
Any ideas ?

Any walmart sells worms, not sure about shrimp.

Yep, I would try Academy at the Forum. If that doesn't work out you can always go to Sea Island.

You'll be able to get worms at the Academy at the Forum, but I don't believe that they sell bait shrimp. Bait shops are becoming a thing of the past. It's just sad. I guess that there's just not enough profit in it. Just try to get minnows anywhere in the San Antonio vicinity. The only place that I know of is the Lighthouse next to Calaveras. The same for bait shrimp.

I was in the bait business for several years there is just no real support. Everyone wants you to be open 24/7. You can not make it just selling bait and today's fishermans wants to buy all his supplies from Out Of State Corps...such as Academy(owned by a corp out of New York , Bass Pro, Walmart,etc they bring products in from out of state and send the profits out of state.

Thanks for your replies..It's kinda sad to see the local bait shops disappear into the past. I remember when there were several in U.C., including tackle shops, annual fishing seminars, etc. Guess I need to retire the fishing poles & buy me an X-box.

yea your best bet is academy and walmart but i have heard that the little convienent store located on the access road that runs from pat booker to kitty hawk has worms and i think small tackle
