went to bank off lewisville again yesterday with some STRONG winds gusting up to 30+mph. the last three times when its been windy ive been skunked in the coves. Is it just coincedence? or is it just too windy sometimes from the bank.

I have the same question. I'm going camping at a different lake this weekend (reserved a site on the windy side like an idiot), and It's going to be too windy for my tiny aluminum boat. Looks like I'll be walkin the banks.

Fishing was invented so man wouldn't get bored between turkey and dove.

This time of year if you are not getting a bite after throwing out a few rods you are on the wrong bank.Imo fresh cut shad works best for Blues. Sometimes bait will be the problem...Try diffrent depths..Fish with the wind blowing onto the bank.If this does not work move , and repeat.

What mj said...
No bites after 30 minutes... Move

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

You'll catch more cats when the wind's howling than you will when it's dead calm.

On most lakes I fish il take 30 over 3 anyday. Tawakoni would be an exception to that rule.

In a boat use to I would say no, as I've got older anything close to 20+ I don't go. From the bank as long as you can get to a spot the wind has been blowing at for a couple of days or more the stouter the wind the better.

For many years I subscribed to the rougher it is the better I like it. Jerry Kings and his grandson's death on Richland Chambers made me much more aware of conditions. High wind will one day open your eyes or close em permanently.

it was pretty danged rough out there today. I intentionally fished a skinny section of lake that runs east-west so the waves were smaller, but it was still pretty tough to post up.

it was a pretty slow day of catching. we relocated about 5 times.

We were at lavon, the wind was really bad. We moved around trying to find some minor cover. We boated some box fish, missed a few, but nothing big.It was an off day for sure. Still it was fishing, and that's ok by me.
